Why History?

A major in history is excellent preparation for many careers in a variety of fields. Students skilled in research, analysis and writing are attractive to graduate programs, professional programs, businesses, etc. MU history graduates compete successfully for admission to the finest law schools, business schools, masters in Education programs, and masters and PhD programs in history and related areas, just to name a few. With an undergraduate degree, a number of our graduates have found rewarding careers in government, business, and journalism fields.
