Bio

Mason is currently in the writing phase of her dissertation project on the genesis of a trans-Atlantic horticultural subscription service by Philadelphia Native John Bartram in 1741. The project explores the intersection of 18th-century scientific trans-Atlantic communication networks and the market economy. She has a strong background in digital humanities and is incorporating that past knowledge and interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Actor Network Visualizations into her dissertation project.
