Michael D. (Mike) Olson
B. A., History, Eastern Illinois University, 2016.
Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, about 90 minutes northwest of Chicago, I graduated from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois in May 2016.
I am a second-year MA student, under the direction of Dr. Keona Ervin. My research interests focus on African American radicalism in the twentieth century. I am particularly interested in African American Communist activists and movements in Chicago in the middle and last thirds of the twentieth century.
Elsewhere, I am active as the social media coordinator of MU SASHA (Skeptics, Atheists, Secular Humanists & Agnostics), the University of Missouri affiliate of the Secular Student Alliance.
