Bio:

I study Modern European cultural and intellectual history under Dr. Ilyana Karthas. I am particularly interested in how gender, race, and class were constructed in the 1890s and in the interwar period through an examination of the arts, literature, and popular culture as historical sources. My current research looks into the intersections between masculinity and imperialism in the 1890s in Great Britain as seen through novels. In future research, I hope to study transnational cultural exchange between Europe and the United States.
