
The History Graduate Student Association is the governing body of graduate students in the Department of History. As an academic organization, HGSA's priority is to support graduate student research through various means, including, but not limited to, sponsoring academic lecturers and conferences, promoting the general scholarly welfare and advancement of its members, providing a forum for social interaction in the field of history, and promoting their interdisciplinary scholastic aspirations both within and outside of the University of Missouri community.
MUHGSA Sixth Graduate Student Conference — 11-12 April 2008
Every other year, the MUHGSA sponsors a national graduate conference in history. The theme for 2008 is "This Land is Whose Land? Civil Identity and Civil Conflict" and the keynote speakers include Dr. Victoria E. Bynum, professor of history at Texas State University San Marcos and the author of The Free State of Jones: Mississippi's Longest Civil War. Please contact us for more information at:
